It’s been a bit of a crap week. I’ve gotten my first head cold in quite a long time and I don’t like it.
But my how times have changed. In the past I would have pumped myself up full of OTC drugs and soldiered on full of stress.
Now I listen to my body. Being sick means my body needs rest. So I celebrate my illness as much as I can.
Instead of downing extra coffee because I’m congested and have poor sleep, I drink tea (both decaf and regular) and plenty of water.
Instead of forcing myself to go to the gym after work, I come home, put on yoga pants and curl up with a good book.
Instead of sticking to my regular (full) schedule, I cancel plans/appointments and stay in.
As much as I dislike the effects of a head cold (burning sinuses, chapped nose and scrappy coughs) I now enjoy the fact that I spend more time asking myself, “what is the most loving thing I can do for my body right now” and then do it.
Here is a link to a recipe for a ginger, garlic tea that can help naturally heal you.
I’m so happy I’ve learned how to listen to my body, am okay with saying “no” and giving myself what I need to be healthy and happy.
I hope you do the same!
Cheers,
Charlene
