Wow – we’re on day 8 of the 28 days of self-care for stress relief.

Fail to plan and plan to fail. At least that’s what my life is like.

By now you may recognize that I strongly believe in self-care. I also strongly believe in the importance of reducing and preventing cumulative stresshere’s why.

If I don’t plan for the week, my self-care and stress management plan crashes and burns (awww in my head I just heard Courtney Love singing Malibu).

Download my weekly self-care plan and make sure you’ve got your self-care covered for this week!

Self-Care Wellness Plan

Be sure to sprinkle different strategies for different needs throughout the week and you’ll see your stress level drop.

Sometimes when I’m working with clients who are high achievers, or who have some perfectionist tendencies, they can get very rigid in their self-care, which can add more stress.

It sounds like “Well I go to yoga three times per week, I run at least four days per week, I make sure I buy healthy food, I make sure I get at least 7 hours of sleep”.

While this is great, it’s mostly tending to physical needs. Try to experiment with different types of self-care in your plan. Connect with a friend you haven’t seen in some time. Do something creative. Try a new physical activity. Read a book for pleasure.

Self-care is any activity that nourishes you. Any activity that brings you pleasure, peace and joy. Start to pay attention to how you feel after different activities and see which ones you REALLY enjoy – not just which ones should provide joy.

Now is the time to make a public commitment to self-care for the week. What is one new self-care activity you will plan for the next week. Leave a comment letting me know what it is. Then after you have done it, come back and let me know how it went!

Cheers,

Charlene
