Support systems are vital for stress management!

Do you ask for help? Do you find and use your supports?

Or do you take on more and more responsibilities and tasks alone?

Sometimes we don’t ask for help because we don’t feel we deserve it, because we don’t know how to ask or because we feel we can do a better job ourselves.

For whatever reason, if we try to go it alone, we will end up with more stress.

Using your supports is an important part of your stress management plan.

A few days I talked about how to say “no” so that you can create more time for self-care for stress management.

Now it’s time to spend a few moments and reflect on who, and what, your support system consists of.

Download MY SUPPORT MAP and take some time to fill it in.

If you take an honest look at your supports and feel that you don’t have enough supports in your life (this is not uncommon), now is the time to stop and see who you can begin to add to your support system.

Sometimes it is a person who is willing to help, but we haven’t wanted to ask.  Other times it’s a program or service that would be helpful.  Get creative as you create a support system that can help you in all of your roles.

When you’re done, leave a comment and let me know which new support you will use this upcoming week.

Cheers,

Charlene
