Saying “no” has, by far, become one of my most effective stress management techniques. It’s rarely easy, but with some simple strategies and practice, you can learn how to say “No” without feeling like a bad person.

Anyone who has kids, or who has spent time with a toddler, knows what it’s like when a little human learns how to say “no”.  It’s “no” to everything – I love it!

Then we grow up and somewhere along the way many people become uncomfortable saying “no”.  Our needs are put aside so that we can take care of other people or do work for other people/organizations.

Learning how to say “no” should be one of your stress management techniques as it allows you to create time and energy for self-care.  Fortunately, as adults, we can say “no” in a much more graceful and respectful manner.
