Good Friday morning to you!
I’ve been thinking about inspiration a lot this week.
This past July I completed one of my “bucket list” items. I attended World Domination Summit, which is a gathering of people who want to live a remarkable life, in a conventional world.
Basically there were 3000 people in Portland, Oregon, who wanted to live a life that nourished their souls and filled their hearts. It wasn’t just about being an entrepreneur and making money, it was about providing a service to others and making a difference.
Their stories were so inspiring – both in terms of the work they were doing and the passion behind the work.
I began to think about my passion, which had felt depleted before I arrived there.
I remembered how much I enjoyed speaking about mental illness and reducing the stigma associated with it.
I had lost that, and what was worse, I had completely forgotten about it.
I decided right then, that I would return my focus to advocating for mental illness.
In particular, anxiety and panic disorder, because I, myself, have recovered from panic disorder and manage generalized anxiety.
It felt so good to be back on track, writing about ways to stay calm, happy and relatively stress-free.
After thinking about the best way, to help the most people who struggle with anxiety, I decided to offer my Living With Anxiety class through a free webinar.
I teach this class is primary care right now and the feedback from participants is great.
The feedback from participants was that they wanted to be able to listen to some of the relaxation strategies at home.
So I met with a sound engineer to develop a relaxation CD and in the next couple of weeks Guided Relaxation for Stress and Anxiety will be available for download on my website.
This all feels so good. Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the world and now I feel like I’m really able to help people recover.
And all because I went to WDS and reconnected with my passion.
So I ask you, what is your passion. What message or gift do you need to share with the world? How can you be of service?
Once you know, you might not be able to do it immediately, but you can start taking small steps towards living your passion.
I recently wrote a post about people who suffer from anxiety in silence and how silence usually means crying alone behind closed doors, pulling over on the side of the road to calm down, or withdrawing to a bedroom to avoid family members.
I encourage you to share the Living With Anxiety webinar link with as many people as you can. You just never know who might need the information to begin recovery. Feel free to forward this email to them:)
My heart fills with more and more gratitude each week that I write these notes to you.
As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts about today’s post, either via email or in my Facebook Page
Cheers,
Char
